Limo Company to Go Green, Convert Vehicle Fleet

CBS 6 - Albany, NY - December 12, 2007

In a news conference today, Premiere’s President David Brown outlined the company’s plan to convert its vehicles to use propane as their primary fuel.  As the first livery-limousine firm in Upstate New York to make this conversion, Mr. Brown said, "We believe it is our duty to lead the way and to demonstrate to all transportation providers that answers exist to provide fuel solutions now.

”Propane was chosen for the fleet for a variety of reasons.  Propane is safer than gasoline, diesel, methanol and ethanol.  It is readily available.  And, propane produces far less carbon monoxide emissions – up to 50 percent when compared to the same vehicle operating on gasoline,” Mr. Brown stated.

Premiere’s partner in the conversion process is American Alternative Fuel (AAF), based in Castleton, NY.  AAF has installed Vapor Sequential Injection (VSI) systems to convert three sedans and a limousine.  With the conversion, the vehicles are now hybrids, using propane as their primary fuel and gasoline, if necessary.

"While economic factors played a role in our decision to take this step, we believe that it is important for all of us to reduce our reliance on foreign oil," Mr. Brown said.

Today, 88% of all propane used in the United States is produced in this country.  This was a huge factor in the decision to switch to propane."  Mr. Brown noted Premiere plans to convert as many of its vehicles as possible over to propane.  "This is just our first step.  We firmly believe that social responsibility starts with Premiere."

During the news conference, Albany Mayor Gerald D. Jennings said, "Premiere’s efforts to go green show the commitment by this Albany business to do something to better the environment.  What Premiere is doing is good for Albany, good for their customers and serves as a call to action for all of us to seek ways to sustain our planet."
